This programmehas been designed for New Managers to learn how to work more effectively in the workplace. To recognise their own resources and capabilities enabling them to work to their full potential. This 2-Day New Manager Learning Programme provides a basis for new Managers to identify their role within an organisation and how it aligns with Corporate Values, Culture and expectations.
This programme is aimed at Managers either managing on an individual basis, leading a team or transitioning into a role which will require them to lead at their best in today’s competitive business environment. The programme modules are designed to take the participant through the journey of understanding what a Managers role is, how it fits into an organisation, the purpose of their role and how a Managers role supported with the right tools and an understanding of how to gain the best from their staff impacts success.
The training, holistic in its approach combines theory with practice and provides an opportunity for participants in each module, to hear the benefits of implementing behaviours and process, see the benefits through demonstration of previous knowledge and apply them during a group exercise.
There will be evaluations through discussion at the end of each module and again at the end of the programme. Participants will gain skills, strategies, and techniques to implement new process and manage behaviours.
This programme focuses on providing participants with the know how to implement strategies that are effective and support Managers in their day to day role.
The modules over 2 days take the participant through the benefits of using the SMART techniques for goal setting, prioritising time management tools and a feedback process to implement when tasked with having those crucial conversations. It is delivered with a blended approach which includes in-class instruction and support with access to an online assessment with feedback report.
This assessment is the CCAI Culture Awareness Adaptability Inventory and is validated by research it includes a 50-question online assessment of the 4 competencies essential for cultural adaptability, Personal Autonomy, Emotional Resilience, Openness & Flexibility and Perception. This assessment is beneficial as a tool for use in personal development for Managers understanding how to manage their approach to diverse workforces, customers or clients.
Participants will receive handouts to enable recording of notes from the tasks completed and will have the opportunity to discuss and explore issues relating to the content and the ways in which they have encountered these issues in their work.
There will be the opportunity for the training to allow participants to experience “real” situations and scenarios to transfer the theory of the course into practice.
At the end of the course students will be able to:
Understand the impact of different styles of leadership, motivational theory and its impact on staff and the importance of good working relationships at all levels in the organisation.
Demonstrate a Management style which supports effective communication at all levels. Implement tools to support prioritising and delegation.
Utilise a range of appropriate methods to provide management to staff and staff to management feedback, in a culture that promotes engagement
Recognising their level of adaptability when working with or leading a diverse workforce.
Implement a coaching approach to develop competencies further.
