Graduate Programmes

When SkillsTeam develop an in-house Graduate Programme, they are specifically designed and developed to suit your company’s culture, values and standards. Our Graduate Programmes create and capitalize on increased competition for positions as a Graduate. The programmme is not about ticking boxes, it is about getting Graduates to think outside the box. Graduates develop the skills necessary to excel today, and the skills to shape and lead into the future.

“Learn By Doing” Approach

Our Graduate Programmes are delivered through a selection of learning experiences with a strong focus on active learning.

This “Learn by doing” approach is supported with customised workshops, elearning modules, project work and coaching sessions from industry professionals and mentoring sessions with the lead tutor.

Mentoring

Graduate Programme provides an opportunity for a company to identify potential mentors as an invaluable means to imparting the values while providing the graduate with opportunities to test knowledge in a secure and supported environment.

It also provides an opportunity for mentors to identify a learning opportunity that they may recognise as being part of this valuable learning journey.

Mentoring in this capacity is fast becoming a highly sought after attractive and functional feature for graduate programmes.

Work Experience

An important feature of Graduate Programmes are the hands-on work experience and associated projects. With the support of the lead tutor, mentors in the field will be assisted in the development and running of short projects collaboratively designed to challenge graduates to bring their best to the practicalities of life at the company.

Inter-Disciplinary

Graduates will have the opportunity to network with other graduates from different companies. This will give the Graduates an excellent source of new perspectives and ideas to help them in their roles.

It is also a great opportunity to exchange best practice knowledge, learn about the business techniques of peers and stay abreast of the latest industry developments. A wide network of informed, interconnected contacts means broader access to new and valuable information.

Programme Structure

The Graduate programme is divided into four blocks.

Block 1

Block 1 addresses the fundamentals of compliance training and provides the graduates with an important induction process.

The induction outlines the expectations for success and it creates a goal for the graduates to achieve. A feature of block 1 is the development of personal skills such as time and stress management, cultural awareness and accountability.

To support this process of self-development, the graduates will be instructed on the importance and application of reflection processes.

Reflection is recognised as being fundamental in developing a capacity for strategizing and future scoping by encouraging heightened engagement and awareness in situations.

Block 2

In Block 2, the graduates will develop skills that will contribute to teamwork, collaboration, innovation and creativity and very much inform new approaches to problem solving.

These skills will be matched with training in entrepreneurial mindsets and methodologies, underpinned by the practicality of project management training.

The graduates will possess a cohesive arsenal of tools for generating their own projects or tackling the day to day projects that arise as part of their daily tasks in the workplace. The skills developed in block 2 are repeatedly identified as necessary for workplace success into the 21st Century.

Combined with the learning gained in block 1, the skills gained throughout block 2 will see graduates well prepared to recognise and identify opportunities, take control and introduce creative and innovative solutions.

Block 3

Block 3 advances and develops the learning of the previous two blocks taking our graduates towards leadership and supervisory orientated roles.

This block encourages the graduates to look towards their capacity to influence and motivate those around them, creating buy-in for their projects.

With new skills associated with innovation and entrepreneurship, graduate intrapreneurs will be encouraged to seek new challenges and tackle the status quo by introducing and implementing solutions and strategies for internal customers, process and structures.

Block 4

Block 4 provides the graduates with a deep-dive learning experience related to the business world.

The skills to drive for financial efficacy, process refinement and improved quality standards are central to block 4.

There is an emphasis on how the graduates engage with their company’s customer base and commercial standing of the company. This block will provide graduates with the tools to analyse and assess the conditions as they find them, the result of which when combined with their previous learning from block 1-3. Will allow the graduates to create informed and innovative solutions.

This structure supports the Graduate to successfully reach the desired level of overall capability upon completion of the full programme and requiring Graduates to be self-driven, hardworking and hungry to succeed.
